Early Season Competitions

Linfield Icebreaker - Spring
For the past two years, John May has taken a small group down to the "Linfield Icebreaker" meet in McMinnville Oregon. Linfield College is a private university college that competes in the NCAA Div II program. As such, the competition on hand provides challenge without intimidation.
This meet is only appropriate for those athletes who have a solid base of training behind them throughout the winter. If interested, please contact John May.

Shotwell Invitational
To lead-off our outdoor season, the Cougars also takes 'advanced group' athletes down to Tacoma, WA for the University of Puget Sound's Shotwell Invitational. This is a NCAA Div II regional competition which should provide excellent competition opportunities. Again, this competition is best suited to grade 10 & older athletes who are able to step-up to open weights & measures - there are no age groups in this open competition!
All interested athletes should contact John May.

The Cougars would like to hear from other Island clubs wishing to participate in these meets. Together, we can carpool, share hotel costs, and provide a fun, & motivating competition environment for our island athletes. Contact John May or Graham Morfitt to coordinate.
Note: most of these competitions use the Direct Athletics system for managing entries. All clubs are responsible for their own entries.
