Do a search for specific track & field event, actual competitions, or competitors names. You'll be amazed by the amount of material out there. YouTube Links... High Jump - Stephan Holm 2.37 meters (Streaming) Stephan Holm in Sweden. He is one of the smallest jumpers, yet jumps well over his own height. Javelin - Andreas Thorkildsen Series of training throws by the 2004/2008 Olympic Champion Javelin - Jan Zelezny 92 meters This series of throws really shows how fast Jan is on the runway, and how hard he hits the throw. Javelin - Jan Zelezny, 83m (1.4M download) From an early round at the 1995 world championships. An excellent view of the throwing pattern from the right side. Hammer - Balasz Kiss, 79m (1.4M download) Note how the angle of the hammer increases with each turn. Discus - Wolfgang Schmidt 66m (1M download) One of the top throwers from the 1980's. Good slow motion video illustrating the turn. Discus - Lars Riedel 69m (1.7M download) A good example of a discus thrower who throws with a minimal reverse. Discus - Suzy Powell 64m (700K download) A good view from the front of the turn, foot placement, and aggression. Shot Put - Ulf Timmerman 21m (950K download) Arguably one of the best glide shot putters of all time. 1988 Olympic Champion. Shot Put - Adam Nelson 20m (1M download) A good example of a spin technique. Adam is smaller than other putters (6', 255lbs).
