          Welcome To The Home Of Track & Field In The Comox Valley

          The Comox Valley Cougars track & field club serves athletes from developmental through elite by providing coaching, facility & equipment, training environment, and competition opportunities year-round.
          The Cougars has a long tradition of personal best achievement, and has assisted hundreds of athletes over the years in achieving the provincial, national, & international competition level. Many have obtained first-rate educational scholarships at Canadian & US universities & colleges as a result of the training that Cougars provides.
          We are located at 3001 Vanier, the Comox Valley Sports Centre, at the intersection of Headquarters Road and Vanier Drive in Courtenay,

          2012 Registration

          Want to join the fun?
          Did you miss the registration meeting?
          No problem... send us an email, and we'll forward a copy of our registration form to you. Bring it with you to one of our practices, put on your running shoes, and we'll be off & running! CLICK HERE

          The 2012 AGM and Registration Meeting will be held Wednesday, February 29 at 7:00 pm in the Cafeteria at Vanier Senior Secondary. All returning and new members should bring the 2012 Membership Registration Form to this meeting with cheques payable to CVCTF.
           
          Club Fees are $300 plus the BCA Fee based on the age members will be by December 31, 2012.

          Bantam:                   12 - 13             $60
          Midget:                        14                $60
          Midget:                        15                $68
          Youth:                      16 - 17             $90
          Junior:                     18 - 19             $90

          Masters:                      35 +             $56

          We accept new members year-round.

          Interested, but currently busy with another sport?
          No problem. Join us at the track when you can. We don't take attendance.
          Our promise is to support you in your quest for personal best. And, you might just find that the additional speed & power you gain at the track improves your performance in your other sports.

          Practices start March 5th @ 6:00pm at the Vanier Track. See the 'Practices' tab.
          The first meet in the Island Series is mid-April, but all meets are optional. See the 'Competitions' tab for the 2012 season schedule.

          Comox Valley Cougar's Nick Blackburn on his way to Gold & a new record in the Men's 400m Hurdles at the Western Canada Games in Kamloops BC. Nick's time was also the #1 ranking in Canada for Junior Men's 400m Hurdles.

          Other Cougar members competing at this meet were Haleigh Lloyd who grabbed Silver in the Women's 400m Hurdles, and Cody Parker who won Gold in the Men's Javelin Throw in a follow-up to his Gold at Junior Nationals & Silver at the Pan-Am Junior Championships.

          Congratulations to these fine athletes!

          A photographer at the Canadian Junior Championships in Moncton NB caught this amazing shot of Comox Valley Cougar, Cody Parker, just as he released the javelin - he put all he had into this throw!
          Cody finished 3rd in his event.

          Haleigh Lloyd finished 4th in the Womens 400m Hurdles.

          Congratulations to them both for their fine performances at this national level!
