Membership Types & Cost
Competitive Memberships are for those wanting to develop their skills & fitness level in a fun & friendly environment, with options to compete at local, provincial, and national level meets.
A competition jersey is required to compete at the local, provincial, and national levels. You do not need to purchase a new jersey each year. Only purchase a jersey if you are a new member or a returning member that requires a new size.
Junior Development (JD) Memberships are for athletes between the ages of 9-13 years old and offers up to three (3) training sessions per week.
Membership runs from March 5th, 2022 to the JD Championship meet, July 15th- 17th, 2022.
Cost $390.00 ($330 club fee, $60 BC Athletics fee)
U16 Memberships are for athletes ages 14-15 and offers up to five (5) training sessions per week.
Membership runs from March 5th, 2022 to December 31st, 2022.
Cost $453.50 ($380 club fee, 73.50 BC Athletics fee)
U18 Memberships are for athletes ages 16-17 and offers up to five (5) training sessions per week.
Membership runs from March 5th, 2022 to December 31st, 2022.
Cost $474.50 ($380 club fee, $94.50 BC Athletics fee)
U20 Memberships are for athletes ages 18-19 and offers up to five (5) training sessions per week.

Senior Memberships are for athletes ages 20+ and offers up to five (5) training sessions per week.

Training-Only Memberships are for those wanting to try the sport for the first time in a fun & friendly environment and available to athletes ages 9+
Membership runs from March 5th to the Bob Daily meet April 23rd & 24th, 2022 and offers up to three (3) training sessions per week.
Cost $195.75 ($180 club fee, 15.75 BC Athletics fee)
Training-only members have the option to upgrade to a competitive membership prior to the training-only season end date.
The training-only membership fee will be credited towards to the cost of the competitive membership selected.
COMPETITION JERSEY
Each competitive member who plans to compete will need a Cougars competition jersey. The jersey cost is $50 and your jersey can be used for multiple seasons. You will not need to re-order a jersey until you need a new size.
Please add $50.00 to the membership/registration cost and select the competition jersey option on the registration form.

Note - these are custom jerseys and will be ordered once or twice each year. We do not keep a large number in stock so please plan ahead to make sure you get the right size.
If you have a jersey from prior to 2019 please return it to your coach.
Payments
Payments can be made by cheque, made out to the "Comox Valley Cougars Track & Field Club" or by cash, accompanied by the completed registration form.
Please add the athletes name to the memo field if paying by cheque.

Is there a registration deadline?
Registration deadlines will be posted when registration opens and are subject to change. For the most up to date registration information check out the membership section of our website or our Facebook page.
Can I try one practice first?
Yes! Come down to the track on any Monday night, meet the coaches, & join-in.
You can also try our Spring Break Camps through the CRA (Lewis Centre), or come to our March Open House Day.
What if I can't make every practice or have schedule conflicts?
No problem! We don't take attendance... attend sessions as you are able to fit in your schedule.
Do I have to attend all track meets?
No. All competitions are 'a la carte' for competitive members. Choose the meets, and the events you want to do.
Training-Only members can participate in our Ice-Breaker meet and the Bob Daily meet (a small $5 fee applies).

NOTICE TO ATHLETES REQUIRING SPECIAL SUPPORT
We regret that we are not able to support athletes requiring additional support at this time (physical, developmental, or behavioral).
Check the Courtenay Recreation Association's Rec Planner Guide for track camps sponsored by the Cougars that may better meet your needs, or the Special Olympics organization.

2022 Spring Break Camps
In the Spring RECREATION REPORTER is a special 'Spring Break Track Camp' for 9-12 year-olds.
3 hours each morning for 4 days you will get the chance to run, jump, & throw.
Have fun learning the basics of hurdles, sprinting, javelin, hammer throw, shot put, long jump, high jump and discus.
